Jay South's original guitar arrangements draw inspiration from multiple musical styles, producing a unique blend of solo performance he refers to as "Rhythm with Melody".
You'll hear tones of jazz, pop, soul, folk, R&B, bossa nova, gospel, classical and swing in his concerts.

Jay began playing in his teens, learning classical solos before moving on to pop, r&b and blues with Sydney bands.
After many years teaching, composing, arranging and managing youth bands he has returned to the stage to present the healing sound of solo guitar and self-penned original songs using a lifetime of musical influences and his own arrangements.

Jay continues to write, compose and arrange music after starting in his early teens.
He has composed around 80 songs, and has arranged music for bands, cultural groups and music releases.
His influences are many and varied .. with modern preference in guitar, rock, jazz, folk and gypsy.
